From a MR perspective, this is much better fare than the one to CLT even the base fare is $14 more.

Plus, N availability will surely be much better than O.

Would I be able to use a $25 Citi/Advantage coupon on this itin? The coupon says the ticket must be for $189, after taxes/fees, it comes out to $198 for me.

The last time I checked, $198 was more than $189.

Sorry, I thought you were referring to the wonderful leave on Saturday, return Monday or Tuesday rule that is popping up more and more.

You are absolutely correct (e.g. SFO-XNA fare, Q class).
O is always tough to beat.

One avail option is the SFO-ORD redeye, ie 8/27-28: 1608-4269-4270-1825. That 30min turnaround is risky, though.

Is the turnaround on the same plane by any chance? Online check-in and a same plane turnaround is often helpful in such circumstances.

Very good deal for anyone who would like to visit the Outer Banks and Kitty Hawk. It is a short drive to the North Carolina coast.

How are you getting this fare? I tried this itinerary on AA and got $424.
