Have all the deals disappeared?
I'd been considering a few mileage runs over the last few weeks.
Looks like all of them are gone now in terms of being cost-effective. Pretty much all the deals have withered and gone away in the last few days.
Anyone know of some that may still be hiding?

I'm in YVR today (off to the airport in an hour or so) to purchase a few tickets....
All the UA fares to Europe ended on the 28. YVR-LHR is good but 7 day min...
SEA-LHR not bad.
Yhe TPA fare is gone. I mannaged to hold one, but it'll conflict with any oter weekend run that I can price out.

Looks like UA and AA have raised their Florida fares from SJC, and even Europe fares in March have jumped at least $100. Hang in there a few days and they'll likely drop back down.

If I can find a good deal ex-SEA for mid Feb, I want to do a nice domestic UA mileage run too since I'll be "prepositioning" myself in SEA for my SIN/HKG a day or two before.
Saw a SEA-MSY for about $170 USD but it's booked in T class on UA so very hard to find avaialibilty.
I guess as tom911 suggested, let's sit back and hope it comes back soon!

There is nothing out of SFO/SJC/OAK. I am not looking for a mileage run. I just want to travel on the weekends. Everything is so pricey at this moment.
I guess I'll hold my breath for a few more days.

I just booked (CO)IAD-LAX for $221 including taxes, no min stay which is a good fare on this route. Also am looking to book a few more of these prior to the fare changing.
IAD also has Paris, Lisbon, and several other Destinations on sale.
I think it depends on where you are flying out of and which airline you are looking at. There appears to be deals out of the three WAS markets right now

With the new USD 10 job security for high school dropouts surcharge taking effect today, the U.S. domestic segment tax increase (up 9%) that went into effect Jan. 1, and the ever-increasing number of airports pocketing USD 4.50 Passenger Facility Charges, the "good old days" of cheap mileage runs are gone. Along with the unpleasantness we're being subjected to at airports, inflight service cutbacks, poor (even outright nasty) attitudes of front-line personnel... it's just not fun anymore.

Just back from Central America (BZE, GUA, & SJO)... so here's a few more irritators that you forgot to mention. Up to $10 in tourist visas just to get into the country... and up to $30 just to get out... TIMES 3, NO LESS.
We're being taxed into oblivion.
But what else... what other 'hobby' are we going to do?

But NW has an incredible $158 + everyting (183 total, depart anyday of the week) for SEA-IAD or DCA. Now if we could only get UA or AS to match!
