AA/DL - LAX/MIA/CLT/PHL-SYD - $700+ Roundtrip

Several US hub airports to Sydney, Australia - $700+ roundtrip in economy. The best deal (based on cost per mile flown) is flying Delta (DL) from Philadelphia (PHL) to Sydney (SYD) for $719 roundtrip basic economy or $919 roundtrip main cabin, however the lowest price deal is flying American from Los Angeles (LAX) to Sydney (SYD) for $700 roundtrip basic economy or $1000 roundtrip main cabin. You can also fly Delta from Charlotte (CLT) for $717 or Miami (MIA) for $714.

For the Delta flights -
Flights are available starting in August 2023 through early December, then pick up in January and February of 2024. The minimum stay is 7 days from the departure and 24 hours after arrival. You have until June 30, 2023 to purchase a ticket.

For the American flights -
The flights are marketed by American and can be operated by either American or Qantas, however you can also purchase the main cabin fares through Qantas or Alaska if you want to earn loyalty points for flights operated by American. Flights are available starting in August 2023 through early December, then pick up in January and February of 2024. The minimum stay is 7 days from the departure and 24 hours after arrival. You have until June 30, 2023 to purchase a ticket.

Fare Rules

Category 2: Day/Time restrictions

PERMITTED SUN THROUGH WED ON EACH TRANSPACIFIC SECTOR.

Category 3: Seasonal restrictions

PERMITTED 01AUG 23 THROUGH 08DEC 23 OR 10JAN 24 THROUGH
28FEB 24 ON THE OUTBOUND TRANSPACIFIC SECTOR.

Category 6: Minimum stay requirements

TRAVEL FROM INBOUND TRANSPACIFIC SECTOR MUST COMMENCE NO
EARLIER THAN 7 DAYS AFTER DEPARTURE OF THE OUTBOUND
TRANSPACIFIC SECTOR.
AND - TRAVEL FROM TURNAROUND MUST COMMENCE NO EARLIER THAN
24 HOURS AFTER ARRIVAL AT TURNAROUND.

Category 7: Maximum stay requirements

TRAVEL FROM LAST STOPOVER MUST COMMENCE NO LATER THAN 12
MONTHS AFTER DEPARTURE FROM FARE ORIGIN.

Category 8: Stopover restrictions

2 STOPOVERS PERMITTED ON THE PRICING UNIT
LIMITED TO 1 FREE AND 1 AT USD 150.00/CAD 150.00.
1 FREE IN BNE/MEL/SYD/LAX.
CHILD/INFANT DISCOUNTS APPLY.

Category 15: Sales restrictions

TICKETS MUST BE ISSUED ON/BEFORE 30JUN 23.

Now on SecretFlying , so if you have specific dates you want to book, book quickly, you likely have competition.

SF killed the Delta deals. Delta deleted all the discount economy fares early this morning and at the moment the cheapest seats are comfort plus. You can still fly AA from LAX for $850+.

I should have booked it at $700. Not all that interested at $850.

$700 was BE though. Would that be an issue (in terms of ability to cancel, seat selection, etc.)?
