I apologize for the inaccurate miles number.. I just wanted to point out that the math was correct, but based on an incorrect assumption. I would go by the number of miles as indicated by the original poster.rather than edit my post to hopefully obviate any further confusion.
±600mi on a 22k+ mileage itinerary is basically irrelevant in the grand scheme of things anyway. |

5 x 228896 = 1,144,480. My math is correct. :)

Here are the official posted distances:
LAX-SIN - 8,770 SIN-SFO - 8,444 So with the popular LAX-SIN-LAX, That's 17,540 plus your feeder flights. |

You could potentially get 8,944 each way out of LAX if you SDC via the SFO flight (8,444+500).

Did SFO-LAX-SIN-LAX-SFO for 18540 miles on Nov 18-27th.
I put in for upgrades and rode 16C in E+ to SIN(no upgrade) and seat 5K(upgrade +$600) on the way back. Finish the year at 112K. Since it was 8 days on the ground to get a ticket price I wanted , and I did this last year, .....this year I went to HKT for 5 days. SIN-HKT-SIN on scoot airlines for 150$ |

You certainly could, but only if the cheaper fare classes are available. My departure on Thursday this coming week is nearly full... only M and up available. The UA37 LAX-SIN is somewhat better, but S, T, L, K are not available, which would prevent SDC. The departure date will significantly impact this ability.
FYI, you should be able to access the united app and united.com for free in flight if you want to make any seat changes or do an SDC. |
Just finished my run yesterday... went very well. Spent the 24 hour layover doing some things in Singapore that I didn't get to when I was there over the summer... very nice weather too.
