How did you book that? I've tried that route a few times and get something in the $2000-$3000 range.

11/16 lax-hnd dl637
11/18 nrt-hkg dl584
12/4 nrt-hkg dl585
12/4 nrt-pdx dl622
12/4 pdx-lax dl5816

Also, it seems all the NRT-HNL flights between 10/25 and 3/30 have the fare buckets zeroed out so I wasn't able to get a layover there. I wonder what's happening there.

Hello fellow frequent flyers, I have a question for you. I am doing two back to back Lax-Nrt-Hkg-Nrt-Lax. I am arriving at 9.45 am in lax and the second flight leaves at 11.51 am.
My question is that is this possible. Do I have to go thru immigration or I can transit to the departure Gate. If I have to go thru immigration can I make the flight.
Thanks everyone for your inputs .

You will need to clear immigration and customs.

+1. You must clear immigration and customs at the first port of entry. Regarding the second round trip, you may want to check-in online in NRT while waiting for returning flight from your first trip.

Thank you jakeryan1 and Dalat767 for your input.
My main concern is i will be only carrying a carry in bag so no checked luggage. Even if I have to go thru immigration and customs will I still be able to make the connection in lax if I have two hours. It may be the same flight going back as their flight numbers are 282 form lax and 283 to lax.

All Passengers that deplane an International Flight, MUST go through US Immigration and US Customs. You will not have access to the Gates once you deplane, you will be escorted directly to the US Customs Area (No Exceptions from my experience) I am a UA Flyer, so I will let the Delta FTers state the best way to make the turn around work. If you hold a Foreign (Non US Passport) the wait will probably be longer. You should seat yourself as close as possible to deplane first and get to the Customs area as fast as you can. Best of luck and Safe Travels

I'm tempted to jump on this... have a $600 voucher so this flight would be nearly free but I'd have to position from ATL. :-/ Thinking I may wait for an east coast run.

ATL-LAX is $205 o/w. Route the return on the direct NRT-ATL. Voilà!

Struggling to find the HND option in Sept. Anyone else finding it? I'd love the free ~20h stopover in Tokyo.

Oops. I was wrong, it is just one night in HNL.

Nevermind, was able to snag it! Trying Multi-city didn't seem to work, but I was able to get it on DL.com just as a connecting option.

8/31
LAX-HND, 20h then NRT-HKG
9/7
HKG-NRT, NRT-HNL
11.5 hour layover in HNL then HNL-SEA-LAX

$699

Pretty happy with the chance to be in Tokyo for a night and HNL for the day considering the price. And this is the last chance to get a true RDM MR on Delta, so happy about that too. Thanks OP!

Can't seem to get a return to ATL without the price jumping to $1,000+

Any suggestions?

Put in another segment from ATL-LAX at the end.
