The below is from our moderator (taken from the first post of the thread - bolding is mine). Feel free to add more if necessary / as needed.

Happy 2014!

Please use this thread to post or to follow Economy Fares which are 'Good Deals' but where the cost per mile is more than 3-4 cents per mile, which is the usual upper limit for what is considered a true 'MR Deal'.

A few requests for posting in the thread:

-members posting their deals please post the city pairs/airport codes and pricing in the body of the post and not just in the post title as it isn't visible for those reading it on mobile devices (ETA: ...or in email alerts)

-some members may be unaware that you can subscribe to this thread and to do that you can go to "Thread Tools" at the top of the thread and click on "Subscribe to this thread".

YYZ/YUL to all hawaiian islands seem to be on sale for just under $600 CAD. Pretty good deal considering it's for winter travel. Seeing dates at end of Jan and throughout Feb on UA and AC.

US: BOS-SFO $239 r/t a/i (4 cpm)

US has posted fare EZAUSJ6Y, $198 base fare, valid 1/28 thru 5/21, BOS-SFO.

Travel is only valid on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Flight requires connections, so cheapest a/i price I see is $239, sample dates outbound 4/15 BOS-CLT-SFO, return 4/16 SFO-CLT-BOS. I see same day turns available as well (e.g. 30 April, on a punishing itinerary that starts in BOS 5 a.m. and gets back by midnight).

With CLT in both directions, works out to 6048 miles for $239, or 3.95 cpm.

Keep in mind that with 500 mile minimums, BOS-PHL-SFO yields only three miles fewer than BOS-CLT-SFO (3021 vs. 3024, according to gcmap.com -- the actual amount awarded by US may vary by a few miles). Might make for a slightly shorter journey...

Good point, thanks; and there's plenty of mainline equipment on BOS-PHL.

On an unrelated note, for *A travelers, UA has an N fare BOS-SJC that prices about $247 a/i and allows routing e.g. BOS-LAX-SJC (6222 mi r/t) or BOS-IAH-SJC (6410 mi r/t) for $247, or about 4 cpm; can even do BOS-EWR-IAH-SJC (7016 mi r/t) for the $10 more for extra segments. The UA fare does not have any unusual date-of-week restrictions.

US/AA: ORD - NRT $870 - $1000 various dates (~7-8 cpm)

Lowest option is $874 from ORD-NRT direct on AA metal and US codeshare. Lots of dates including in April (go for cherry blossom viewing).

Can be found via ITA and Bookable on carrier site

Thx to TFD tweet for this

For those of us normally browsing FT from our wireless devices for which post titles do not show, I have manually added them here. Please keep in mind this when posting .

Seems like it's not charging YR on this route when booked as US codeshare.

MH/JL - YVR to KUL,SIN,BKK,DPS (and most SE Asian destinations served by MH)

MH launched a codeshare service from YVR a couple of weeks ago and is having some pretty good promo fares.

Example date: YVR-DPS Jun 7, DPS-YVR Jun 21 - $756 in Economy Special, $3314 in Business Special

Pretty good availability throughout the year, first stopover free and extra stopovers at $50. Open-jaws are allowed as well. Not great as a MR but works as a very cheap "circle-Asia" fare except for the fact that you have to transit in KUL alot. MH also flies BKI (Kota Kinabalu) to NRT on Tu,Th,Sa. Very flexible routing, something like this is possible:

YVR-NRT
NRT-KUL
KUL-SIN
SIN-KUL-DPS
DPS-KUL-NRT-YVR

or

YVR-NRT
NRT-KUL-SIN
BKI-NRT
NRT-YVR

Used Hipmunk with YVR::MH+ to book these.
