The below is from our moderator (taken from the first post of the thread - bolding is mine). Feel free to add more if necessary / as needed.

Happy 2014!

Please use this thread to post or to follow Economy Fares which are 'Good Deals' but where the cost per mile is more than 3-4 cents per mile, which is the usual upper limit for what is considered a true 'MR Deal'.

A few requests for posting in the thread:

-members posting their deals please post the city pairs/airport codes and pricing in the body of the post and not just in the post title as it isn't visible for those reading it on mobile devices (ETA: ...or in email alerts)

-some members may be unaware that you can subscribe to this thread and to do that you can go to "Thread Tools" at the top of the thread and click on "Subscribe to this thread".

That's why it's so cheap - they only have to fuel the plane for 4hrs flying instead of AF's 8hrs

For Detroit based pax, seeing DTW-BOM for $886. $0.054/mile. A bit less if you can add another leg (for example, BOM-CDG-CVG-DTW on the return).

Thanks SanFranDan!

I did some playing around with this for while and found a version that has United metal in 'K' over the Atlantic, so I booked a long weekend. Booked at United.com. The Swiss flight are United codeshares.

I'm currently collecting qualifying miles on Turkish. The United flights get 100%, the Swiss flights get 25%.

I have a 3yr Multiple Entry Russian Visa. Most should take that cost into consideration as well.

UA: $125 IAH - BOS r/t CPM: 3.91

Reversible fare from either Boston or Houston. JetBlue is matching out of Hobby (HOU), but you'll probably want to grab some inexpensive UA miles before their program dies a horrible death next year

MCO-ATL-AUS-SLC-MCO on DL

Found an odd on on DL…only works if you search on google flights, and click "Book with Delta". Cannot get it to price with the multi-city function on delta.dumb.

MCO-ATL-AUS-SLC-MCO for $277, and also $188 on random Tues/Wed throughout the next month or so. It seems to only be this routing for some strange reason. I tried some other routing combos, and no dice. Really strange.

Works out to 3.2CPM…not bad.

I'm a GM, so this will earn 8640 miles, and 4369 MQM's. I booked for this coming Saturday, and already had one upgrade clear for ATL-AUS, in EC for all other segments. Not holding high hopes that the other upgrades will clear, but you never know.

DL: EWR-HNL $567ai

credit to TFD:

not quite the ~$400ai prices from early 2013, but still very good. availability is surprisingly open through winter months. double connections (i.e., EWR-MSP-LAX-HNL routing) run only $4 more.

here's a SDT that i found:

i'm not a DL expert, so i won't try to provide any more details because i'll probably be wrong. just wanted to make sure the deal was posted here for all.

hope UA makes an attempt to defend the hub!

UA SEA-TPA one-day turnarounds (or same-day turns after red-eyes if you can find one) as low as $313 (as low as 5.1cpm depending on routings) in Nov/Dec. Books into G or K class depending on dates

AA: DFW to SFO, $277 r/t

I don't know if this is really a "good" deal, but it seems a lot cheaper than other fares I've found (other than Spirit).

DFW to SFO for select dates in October, between $277-$287. Non-stop on American. It books into O class, which I think earns 100% base miles, .5 points per mile.

I found it on the Matrix by searching for trips with a duration of 2-5 days (and selected to omit results from Spirit).
