Minneapolis Dining
I was in Minneapolis over the weekend and had the opportunity to check out a few of the dining options.
My S/O and his work colleague ate at Masa on Friday night, and both raved about it. Since I wasn't there, I can't really expound further, but they both highly recommended it.
Saturday I had lunch at Cafe Maude. Its pretty non-descript on the outside, but the interior is has a very nice feel to it. Very neighborhoody. I had the grilled veggie panini and was quite impressed. Would definitely make a return visit.
Saturday night we had dinner at Cue in the new Cuthrie Theatre. It was very well reviewed in several places, but we were all rather disappointed with our meals. My appetizer...pork belly confit... was fantastic, but our mains were all ..just ok. They weren't bad per se, they just didn't live up to the hype. It could have been because it was a show night, and they very much cater to the pre-show crowd. Our reservations were at 6:30 and they had already run out of one of the prix-fixe specials. There is a tasting menu on the website, but it wasn't offered.
Sunday night we had the 8 course tasting menu at La Belle Vie.
It was one of the better meals that I've had in the last year. Gorgeous setting, great service, and wonderful food. Will definitely return. Highly, highly recommended.
