Hmmm - I'm stumped.

There is Alinea at 1723 N. Halsted with fits the very expensive and cool website descriptions, but I wouldn't exactly call it japanese/sushi/oriental.
www.alinearestaurant.com

There is also Itto Sushi at 2616 N. Halsted St. (www.ittosushi.com) but that's been around forever, and doesn't fit your description.

Starting with an "o", I can only find Osys (www.osyssushi.com) but they are on Grand in river north, not Halsted.

Please let the board know what you think of Alinea. ^ ^

I've been wanting to go for awhile now, Mrs Sweet Willie and I had one of the most memorable meals of our lives at Trio restaurant in Evanston when Chef Grant Achatz was there. Now that he is at/owns Alinea, I have to imagine that things are even better.

thanks for the heads up, on a normal month the Mrs & I probably would have gone but seeing as I just started rehabbing a rental property to the tune of $60k, the $1300 for two price tag of this event is a little too pricey for us now.
