Best Wine Bar in Chicago
Headed to the Windy City after Christmas for some cold weather and we hope to see SNOW. I have done some searches from FT and other sources. I come with BIn 36 and a few others. We are stayed at the Drake without a car as we do not like to pay for parking and rental.
The Wine is the FOCUS.
Enjoy tasting more than dining, so food is not as important.
Thanks

Bin36 is my favorite restaurant/wine place in the city. It is warm and inviting and the food is good too. Wine choices are excellent of course. We do a lot of their events and have never been disappointed.
A bit more trendy (and snooty, in my opinion) is the Tasting Room at Randolph Wine Cellar - 1415 W. Randolph St. They have a nice wine list, but their prices are ridiculous. Cheese and modest finger type foods are available.
Webster Wine Bar - 1480 W. Webster Ave- is this little cozy wine place, great list, great staff, etc. No real frills, just great wine and knowledgeable people. Some food available.
I vote you visit Bin36 or Webster Wine Bar.

The drake is very close to Bistro 110 which is a very good spot for a wine/appetizer. They have a very good list of whites by the glass or bottle. It's a great 4 PM stop. We also enjoy Sullivan's bar area. It's the best place we have found for Champagne. The White Star is a real value in comparison to other places. Best red so far has been at Spiagia. You can also enjoy the evening there at the bar with a great glass of wine and an appetizer. Bin 36 is as advertised, but we have enjoyed several times.
MIFlyer (will be dining in downtown Chicago most of the xmas-newyears week)

This might be a view of things to come in regards to wine bars.
Just Grapes
560 W Washington Blvd, Suite 100
http://www.justgrapes.net
312.627.WINE
It features the Enoround a self-service wine bar that dispenses a 16 wine sampling of high-caliber vintages for $27, likely the largest tasting flight in Chicago.
