Sweet Baby Ray's - Elk Grove Village
Sweet Baby Ray's is a good sweet BBQ sauce, I like the hickory based sauce better than the original as it has more of a smokey flavor.
I've noticed that Sweet Baby Ray's is opening a restaurant on Higgins in Elk Grove Village, about 1 mile East of Higgins/Arlington Heights Road.
I stopped by as the door looked open. A couple restaurant planners and contractors were sitting around. The mgrs stated that the grand opening would be December 13, 2006 and that they will be serving pulled pork and beef brisket.

the pitmaster from Barbara Ann's (which is again open BTW) has his own place now called Uncle John's BBQ, I liked the old Barbara Ann's so I guess even with the crappy construction traffic I'll have to make a trip to the s. side.
Uncle John's BBQ

I have not ventured deep into the s side recently due to the construction, might be about time to do so.

Although I am in AZ, I can still give you guys pointers.
SW: After all this time, you still haven't given George's a try. Trust me when I tell you that the trip will be worth it.

Smoque is good for brisket (either sliced or chopped). Their ribs were ok, but if I wanted that flavor and was in that area, I'd go to Honey 1 instead. Parking at Smoque can be challenging, especially before 6pm.

Rib Tips get some respect - FINALLY !!!!!!!!
For me, rib tips have almost always delivered on flavor more than ribs themselves (that includes spare or baby back)
Chicago Tribune in today's At Play section listed their top 5 rib tip joints to try, most have been reviewed in this thread already.
1). Uncle John's BBQ - 337 E 69th St phone: 773.892.1233
2). Barbara Ann's BBQ - 7621 S Cottage Grove Ave phone: 773.651.5300
3). Fat Willy's Rib Shack - 2416 W Schubert Ave phone: 773.782.1800
4). Lem's - 311 E 75th St phone: 773.994.2428
5). Brother's Ribs - 758 W Euclid Ave in Palatine phone: 847.776.7427
I urge you to give the tips a try next time you are at a GOOD BBQ place ^ ^

As I've stated numerous times, I have yet to find a good brisket in Chicago, so we'll have to go to Smoque at some point.
