Lone Star Restaurant and Saloon
Wife and I went to eat here the other day. It is located on Dempster and around Harlem I think. Wasn't expecting much but was quite surprised. This place is a throwback to the days of the cowboys. Ordered an onion bloom for an appetizer. Not as good as Hackneys but decent. Wife had combination Ribs and Filet. I had a combination Filet and Shrimp. It comes with salad or soup. You also get another side. We chose steak fries and a baked potato. The Filet came and it was a sizable portion medallion. The Filet was wrapped in bacon which I thought was gristle until I realized it was coming off way to easily.
The Filet was one of the best I've had in a while. Shrimp was OK. Ribs were good. Each combo cost around $20 which is a good deal in my book for the quality of the Filet. They also have all-you-can-eat ribs night on Mondays for $12.99. We don't drink but they had an extensive drink menu. They also have a separate bar area when you walk in. Overall, good value for the money IMO. We will be going back.
