Madeline Island, WI
Anyone been there? Anything to do? Places to stay?
I have to go there for a wedding next summer. Are the mosquitos going to eat me alive? Am I going to be bored?

You will love it up there, unless you need "Starbucks" or similar trendy places around you.
We have been there several times and have no problems with insects. Next summer, though, may have lots of rain, and then the
mosquitos can bother you.
We stay at the Rittenhouse Inn in Bayfield and take the boat to the island.

The waters around the Apostle Islands (Madeline is one of them) are so clear, you can see down 50’ no problem to the bottom. It actually is quite eerie. The water is a gorgeous turquoise color. When calm, some kayaking is a great way to get up close: http://www.nps.gov/apis/paddling.htm

It is beautiful, just enjoy.
Further away, but worth it if you have the time is a ferry (or seaplane) ride away is Isle Royale. If you like camping and hiking. Wolves & Moose at Isle Royale National Park: http://www.nps.gov/isro/
