Interior Design Advice in Chicago
Hey guys! Just landed and rented a condo in West Lawn, Chicago. Now I need a professional decorator or something to change the interior a little bit. Do you have some kind of whitelist for such kind of services in the area? I'm new here and totally not informed about anything!!!
I do not need very expensive services, just somebody with good taste and ideas how to apply them. I have downloaded several inspirational images of interior design - Founterior is one of my sources and the other is Houzz. Both magazines are great and I have chosen the way I like my condo should look. But.. unfortunately, what a girl can do about men's work
Please, if you have a clue who I can contact with, write me back!

Maybe you should start by having a look at Yelp ratings and then some further searches based upon the some of Yelp recommendations. Also ask your coworkers for some recommendations.

I have a friend in Chicago who's Director of Interior Design at a company (his company does more corporate stuff). When he gets back from Turkey Day break I can ask him for some recommendations.
Cheers.

I just did a full home reno and used design services for this job. Expect to pay $125 - $200/hour for top end designers. Additionally I would recommend you be prepared by writing a Design Brief. A Design Brief indicates who you are, how you live, what you like, how you plan to use your home ie: entertaining, hanging out with spouse or hanging out in a man cave with all guys. The more prepared you are with your vision the more efficient you can be with directing your design partner to come up with ideas you like. I'm happy to share my design brief with you, just PM me.

Woohoo... $125 - $200/hour is a big push for my budget
But I know that if you want something to be made professionally, you should pay. I have tried several times to order cheap services and the results weren't very promising..... All of you, thanks for the advices... will write later what actually happened when everything's ready
