I just did a full home reno and used design services for this job. Expect to pay $125 - $200/hour for top end designers. Additionally I would recommend you be prepared by writing a Design Brief. A Design Brief indicates who you are, how you live, what you like, how you plan to use your home ie: entertaining, hanging out with spouse or hanging out in a man cave with all guys. The more prepared you are with your vision the more efficient you can be with directing your design partner to come up with ideas you like. I'm happy to share my design brief with you, just PM me.
