Getting to Chicago is easy, just like bdesmond mentioned, but 4 hours may not be enough time to do much in the city. Scan this thread: Consolidated "Layover at ORD - what to do? where to go? how much time?" for ideas, or let us know what you would like to do or see.

Thanks for Supporting our Local Economy

Take the shuttle to the Rivers Casino. Eat some overpriced food. Lose some coin in the tightest slots in Illinois.

Hi guys,

Someone suggested Rivers Casino? Anybody gotten from ORD to the Casino? Will there be free rides or do I need to hire a cab?

They have a shuttle, but AFAIK it only runs in the evening. You can take a shuttle to Courtyard Chicago O'Hare or Hilton Garden Inn, both of which are literally next door to the casino.

sent you a pm, there is free shuttle service to/from the Rosemont El CTA stop (Blue line) & Rivers Casino. The El will cost you a few $. Rosemont station is the first stop & is minutes from ORD.

as well as Hyatt Rosemont which would be the closest hotel IIRC. The HGI is a bit of a walk, as it isn't right next door.

HGI is just North of Courtyard, which is just North of the Casino, along S River Rd. Hyatt is across Devon avenue to the South. I'd say it's a toss up.

Just so I'm clear about this "walking distance": less than 5 minutes?

Yes: http://bit.ly/mPiAAj. Casino is where you see construction. Green arrow points to the parking garage.

Excellent, thanks! I will go donate to the local economy when I'm there...
