ORD - T2 to T1 in 40 mins?
Is 40 mins enough time to catch my connecting flight? My flight from MIA ends in T1 and I need to catch my flight in T2 to YWG (Winnipeg, Canada). This is all one UA ticket and I just have my carry-on duffle. Do I need to go through customs?

You only have to leave the sterile area if you're going into or out of T5. No customs required.
It may be a little tight, depending on how quickly you're able to disembark the plane and which gates you arrive at/depart from. Could be a 5-minute walk or could be a 15-minute brisk walk. My only concern would be if you're the last to disembark and have to walk from one end of T2 to the other end of T1.

But obviously it's good to check the monitors anyway since there's no guarantee the YWG flight actually depart from T2.
Bottom line is that 40 minutes is plenty of time under normal operating conditions.

I think glg has the OP's direction reversed. OP will arrive T1...so the question is, will the MIA flight arrive in the C concourse (in which case taking the shuttle bus to E2-A might make sense). If the OP arrives on the B concourse, then it makes sense to simply walk over, airside, to T2.

I think the ORD-YWG flights are all skywest so should be T2 for sure then. I think there is a flight or two that is Shuttle America these days from MIA-ORD and if it is that flight then the bus is like right there at the shuttle gates so should be pretty easy connection. If you happen to arrive in terminal b then walking is your only choice and not too bad but depends on how deep you end up in T2.
Unless it is the last flight of the day...wouldnt worry much.
