Skydeck and The Ledge
So, I will be in Chicago the 2nd week of January, which I assume is not too overly crowded with tourists. Hence, I was just looking at the Skydeck website, and it suggests to beat the crowds, one should visit after 5pm.
Well, I was planning on going on the Friday after I arrive. And I wonder if on a weekday @ 5pm, if there would truly be long wait lines.
I was reading Trip Advisor, and there were these reviews that said the wait times could be 2 hours + ! YIKES!
Also, I am really intrigued to do The Ledge experience.
Thanks,
Patrick :-)

I am not sure about the crowds but 5PM is after sunset in mid-January (see attached link). I don't know if you want to go during daylight hours or not but thought I would mention that.

Realize that it's pretty dark at 5PM this time of year. After dark, there aren't usually lines. It's a different experience at night vs the day, you're more seeing the lights of the Loop than the entire surrounding area, but it's still pretty cool.
I haven't been up since they opened the Ledge, but I've seen them from the ground. Kinda weird having glass boxes sticking out of the side of the building.

Don't make any firm plans to go until you know whether it's going to be a clear day/evening. I don't think there will be two hour waits in January. I can see the windows of the ledge from my living room, but I haven't seen them in several days.

Yeah, good point. I was right below it on Wacker today and don't think I could see up more than about 30 floors, let alone to 103.
