Yet another DXB transit question

I have redeemed some miles and now have a an EK F ticket LAX-DXB-SIN. I hold a Mexican passport, and if I understand the rules correctly, I don't need to apply for a transit visa, as my layover is slightly less than 8 hours, and I'm not planning on leaving the airport.

I made the mistake of reading stories on line of people arrested for minuscule traces of drugs in their shoes or other belongings, as they use very sensitive settings. I don't do drugs, but I always fear that my luggage touches someone else's, and ends up with those minuscule traces. Last stories I read were from 2007-08, so I understand that.

I look 100% Mexican, and unfortunately my country has been on the news for drug related issues, so my fear, again, is that I will be profiled.

Have I not read more stories after 08 because that has stopped? Am I worrying without a reason?

Sorry if this is offensive for some people. I have visited 25+ countries, but perhaps I worry too much.

You'll be fine! 50 million+ people pass through Dubai every year, and 1 or 2 over-zealous arrests for drugs is a very small percentage.

Most of the drug smuggling is coming from Africa and transitting to Europe, so I don't think being Mexican is going to be a red flag.

Thanks. I guess I was just looking for reassurance.

In fair honesty, when I have traveled by myself to other countries, I've freaked out as well.
