A new airport in Dubai is in operation. Please post details of your travels, public transportation and experience here.

Thank you

Can I suggest you try doing a little basic research first: there are no passengers (at least not yet). Try doing a Google search and you'll find many links, including this one

Not the info most passenger will look for

Thanks for pointing this out. I have done research - even the one you pointed out tells a lot about cargo but very little information on public transportation. It has 'facts' and as you know most passengers do not want to know how much cargo they have shipped but how they can catch a taxi, where is public transportation, places to eat and shop.

Thanks for your help.

Given that there are no passenger services yet, you may be unsurprised to find out that public transportation and food outlets are somewhat limited.

There have been scheduled passenger flights, albeit very few, for a couple of months now (WizzAir). Gulf Air also starts in the next few days and Qatar before long. There is an hourly bus service to Ibn Battuta Metro Station for now. The metro will be in place for the Expo in 2020 but probably not much sooner.

It is far away from central Dubai, and by far off I mean really far off.
I am guessing around 60-65km from DXB

Yes, 51km to downtown. http://goo.gl/maps/apUOd

Still, it's more convenient than DXB if you're staying at one of the Palms developments or the Marina.
