Cancun + water

I am going to Cancun next week - my first trip to Mexico. I am staying at an all inclusive (Club Med). How careful do I need to be about the drinking water while on the property? In other words, is it a bad idea to eat lettuce and other washed salad items at the resort?

In Mexico it is always a good idea to watch what you eat and drink.

No need to be concerned at the property.

When you are in Cancun...it is really like being in southern Texas. Virtually all of the foodstuffs are brought in from the US mainland and the water is probably better quality then what you have at home. Also, the locals who work on the island have to have special permits if they live off island to get there for work. A Club Med is a very "sanitized" experience in country like Mexico.

Enjoy your stay!

Club Med is always very good about comestibles and potables - just do what they recommend. When you go into town, buy bottled water - it's cheap and ubiquitous. It'll be hot - drink plenty of water.
