I've had no trouble using an EEO on a package rate even when it is less than the standard rate... for example the recent summer movie promo. Booked the 'summer movie adventure and breakfast' package, got free breakfast both nights, 4 movie tickets and the 2nd night free. AND it was also the first desk agent I've ever dealt with who knew exactly how to handle the EEO and processed it at checkin so the bill was actually correct when I checked out.

Summer movie promo was about 50% success rate with csrs for me, just called back till I git one who would do it. But the harder ones are the golf packages and shopping packages or such, which were actually cheaper than the standard rates some times. That has been much harder for me to book with an EEO.

In addition, on May 21, 2009 Kate, one of the Marriott Reps on this board, responded as follows to a question raised in a similar thread as referenced a few posts up.

Hello,

The Global Rate Break is a publicly listed rate, so yes, you will be able to redeem your EEO's with rooms booked with the rate.

Kate

I still envision problems using the EEO, not only with the Global Rate Break, but with any rate and I am sure I will be calling the Plat line again, as I have done so often in the past, to get it resolved while trying to check out. This seems to be a training issue, because most of the FD staff do not know how to process these and there is usually no management presence on a Sunday morning, IME.

Regards,
