It looks like everyone has different summer 2009 promotions...here's mine :)

You're registered to earn 25,000 bonus points. Stay with Marriott and earn yours.
Nights you need to achieve your goal: 20 nights

I got the same.

The megabonus for 1Q was 50k for 25 nights. That's a little better.

I agreed Completely.

Hence why there is no "Mega" in the name of this promotion, as there are only 2 "MegaBonuses" a year, usually in the Spring & Fall. This is what I was told by my contact at Marriott Plat. concierge for what its worth.

I too will probably stick with SPG. Maybe I'll consider staying at Marriott between June 1 - 26 which is the double-dipping overlap period between Double Elite Nights & the Summer Promotion...

I got the 3 stay for a free night offer. I'm gold.

rylan May 8, 2009 11:37 am

I got a 15 nights and receive 20k points promo as a Plat.

Not as nice as the previous promo but I'm happy anytime there's any promo. I stay damn near exclusively with Marriott regardless of what's being offered, so any time there's a promotion, I just look at it like bonus points.

Ditto. Even though Marriott might not get a lot of extra nights from some of us in the short term, it helps keep us from looking elsewhere. They can look at it as insurance to keep us from being enticed into another hotel program.

Got something slightly different:

Leave your cares, your work and your world behind. Sign up now to earn 5,000 Marriott Rewards bonus points after every other paid stay – starting with your second stay. It's a quick and easy way to earn up to 15,000 bonus points toward a free getaway of your own.
Well...better than nothing, I did not plan on staying with Marriott during that time, but maybe if there's an oportunity, I did register just in case...

Greetings - Dirk

PE - 20 nights, 25K bonus promo.

Works for me, since I am a long term Residence Inn resident. I should make the requirements around 6/21...

OMG this is utter garbage compared to SPG's promo. 25K points for 20 nights. LOL! :D :D

Putting 20 stays for SPG I get 10 free weekend nights up to cat 6. So for 20 nights at Marriott I would get one free nights at Fairfield Inn or whatever that brand was called.

Result ZERO nights at Marriott this summer.

I got the '5000 points for every second stay - max 15000 points' flavour. I'm Gold.

I got the one night free promotion (after 3 stays). I'm also registered for the new member promotion where you get one free night after 2 stays. Part of the promotion dates overlap. So how's that going to work?

I have the same question about making progress on both promotions at the same time. If you had 3 stays in June (the overlap between promotions), would you earn 2 free nights?

And if you can't make progress on both at the same time, which one takes priority?

For those of us who have to work hard to keep up the 75 nights per requirement for Plat any type of promo make it more bearable. Promo times are best time to do mattress runs. I have done two MR this year and will have to several more keep up. Combined with the bogo now is the time to do the mattress runs and starwood can't beat that IMHO.

Different offers have been offered to members, but all members are eligible to participate in the promotion. Register for the promotion May 8 through June 30. The earning timeframe for the promotion is June 1 through August 31.

If there is no promotional announcement on your account, or you have questions about your individual offer call Guest Services or send me a personal message for assistace.

Regards,

The summer promo is offered on my site. When I register, I get this message:

You are not eligible for this promotion and could not be registered at this time. If you feel you are receiving this message in error, please contact your local Marriott Rewards Guest Services office for assistance.

I guess I will have to call - as you indicate it is available to all.

I can answer this.

I asked the MC this exact question and she advised that one stay could earn credit for both of the above promotions.

If she permits, I could post her response.

Ask her.
