Smile The Thank you! Marriott Concierge Thread

I would like to start a thread acknowledging Marriott Concierge in providing special assistance to FT members. I think it's important that we take the time to give credit when its due. Plus, I would also like Marriott headquarters to know that we appreciate their presence here on FT and hope that they will realize the importance of engagement with their Marriott Rewards Members.

So here goes...

I was recently staying at a FS hotel for 4 nights booked with a LNF rate. When I presented my PP vouchers the front office manager on duty refused to accept them stating that they could not be applied against LNF rates.

Now as we FT members know YES THEY CAN! As has been confirmed by Marriott Concierge.

What really bothered me was the fact that I have used PP's at this hotel numerous times over the last 3 years on LNF rates and as recently as this past Feb. without any issues, I mention this to the manager and he insists I am wrong. I suggested that he review all my folio's over the last 3 years for confirmation and that he contact Marriott for clarification. Well he refused, so I told him I would contact Marriott myself.

This was on a Saturday and to complicate matters the vouchers were set to expire on Monday! Anyhow, I contacted Marriott Concierge via email and explained the situation, I also asked if someone from their office would mind contacting the hotel to clarify that the vouchers can indeed be used.

I got a call from the front desk on Monday AM letting me know that they were contacted by Marriott and that I can use the vouchers after-all. DUH! No kidding!

I did have a word with that same manager letting him know that he could have given me the courtesy and benefit of the doubt and contacted Marriott himself instead of putting the onus on me.

Bottom line... THANK YOU Marriott Concierge for your quick assistance. ^

While I, personally, have never had the need to use the Marriott Concierge on FT, I'll still add a thank you and say it's nice to have his/her presence on this forum.

I haven't needed their intervention (yet) but I appreciate their presence here...and sometimes I feel bad since they get the fun job of telling us about "exciting enhancements".....they really do need battle pay!~

So...thanks to all the MC staff and please stick around!

Yes, Ira helped me out considerably a few months back. Phoning regular CS got me nowhere, but contacting Marriott Concierge got the problem sorted in 24 hours

Thanks!

I have had a couple of occasions where one of the Marriott Concierge team has ironed out a minor problem or two. Their presence here is very much appreciated ^^^^^^

I recently contacted Marriott Concierge asking for a special message of thanks to be sent to one particular member of staff at the JW in Bangkok for great service I have had as regular guest there over the past 10 years. I know the message was passed on because the GM sent me a nice snail mail response.

Thank you Marriott Concierge ^:-:

I sent a PM to Marriott Concierge and it was followed up by a phone call from the home office in Utah the next day, explaining my issue and resolving the problem. Big ^.

Thumbs up

I also haven't had to ask MC to intervene, but I do appreciate their input into many threads I have read. ^^
