Why the absolute LIES from MR??? Here is what I found:
Dublin area-7/24 to 7/31
Marriott Johnston House-NO AWARDS-but rooms for sale
Ashbourne Marriott-NO AWARDS-but rooms for sale!
It seems as if the hotels may have found a NEW way to get around the "regular room available". Yesterday, they were regular awards, with regular rooms.
Today...they are "free full irish breakfast" package! This was a farce and an out and out LIE from the first mention of "enhancements". Glad I have switched most of my stays over to spg/hyatt!

Was just able to book the South Beach Marriott that has not been available for my dates in Feb for weeks now. Category 8 now WOW!!!!
I remember back in 2000 when this place opened it was like a category 5 or something. 120k for 3 nights!!! Oh Well
Was able to book the Harbor Beach Marriott resort and spa in FLL, have not been able to do that for a couple weeks also.

Well, I've updated post 2 with the results from the change.
It's pretty dreadful.
Some rooms did open up at the ski properties.
But the rest is awful. Not a single night opened up for New Orleans Mardi Gras or Jazzfest, or for New York holiday season. This despite the fact that standard rooms are still available for cash on most dates. Worse, some nights that had previously been available as standard awards are now unavailable. I don't think even the most pessimistic of us saw that coming.
And, of course, the Stay Anytime awards are gone. So in most cases, not only is there not increased availability, but now the customers who might have been willing to part with the extra points for those nights have lost that option.
This looks like Marriott gets a huge thumbs-down. The promise of increased award availability seems largely unfulfilled.
I'd love to hear comments from the official Marriott reps on these results.

I just wanted to let you know I am researching the availability concerns mentioned on this thread. Because I am just getting started I do not have any concrete answers to provided. One thing that may have affected some peoples searches for availability is that systematically they were delayed until 4:30am eastern time.

2 bedroom suites at RI gone also
Another datapoint: I always stayin two bedroom suites at Residence Inn when I travel with my family and nanny. They have all disappeared for point opportunities as of this morning (they were there yesterday as stay anytime). Today - GONE!
Could this really be goodbye to my chain of choice for 10 years!

All my favorite hotels in Europe (including the Champs Elysees in Paris!) show wide open availability for a number of months between Feb and Sept. I don't have time to look at every possible date, but availability looks fairly decent from just a cursory glance.
And no more "STD" or "ANY" on the calendars - just "RWD".
Oh, and I dashed out side to check, and sure enough, the sky was still up there.
