Which Marriott Property in Munich?
Wife and I are trying to decide which property in Munich to stay at for a vacation over Christmas holidays using points.
We will actually be staying twice, 2 days at Christmas Eve and Day, and 3 days leading up to New Years Eve.
Not a ton of great reviews for any of the 3 downtown Marriott properties, Marriott, Renaissance, or Courtyard. As a tourist, it seems like the Courtyard has the best location. Normally we prefer FS properties, but since neither FS even has a lounge we are more open to the newer Courtyard.
I know as a Plat I'll get free breakfast at the FS, and heard rumor that the CY will provide as well. Any other hidden benefits at these properties for Plat?
Thanks in advance!

There are several threads on Munich properties. Here is one of them.

But go ahead and do a search by putting in Munich. Sure you will find more.
Location wise, CY is best as you have figured out.
The Ren has no CL, and it will provide free breakfast for plats in the ground level restaurant. Breakfast buffet was quite good. They didn't give me actual coupon as such. When you check-in at breakfast, they ask for your room # and check you off.
The Ren location is not bad, as the metro station is 2 minutes away.
Have not stayed at the Marriott Munich, hence no Comments about it.

The Courtyard is much favored as it's sooo close to downtown - walking distance. I've had free breakfast as a Platinum at the CY.
I experienced the same as the previous poster at the Renaissance. I think 2 minutes to the subway is overstated. More like 30 seconds.
Never stayed at the Marriott. From what I understand, it's around the corner from the Renaissance.

As stated before Munich Marriott and the Ren are basically next to each other. However the Ren is maybe one minute closer to the "U6" subway station "Nordfriedhof".
Ren usually upgrades Plat members into junior suites with a seperate living room whereas the Marriott usually puts me into into a standard room but adds a large fruit plate as an additional welcome gift. So if you are looking for a larger room the Ren is the choice. If looking for a modern bathroom and wellness area (steam room, sauna, pool, jacuzzi, state of the art work-out room) go for the Marriott. Breakfast buffet is nearly the same and will be granted to elites in both hotels. Marriott does have a "show kitchen" wheras you must order your omlets at the Ren.
The Courtyard Munich is a nice and very modern hotel. I have not much of upgrade experience as i was there only twice. IIRC got a larger standard room and the breakfast buffet comped. Location is in walking distance (5 minutes) to the main station and "Karlsplatz/Stachus" (=pedestrian area).
