If you would like to enroll in the Megabonus promotion, the link provided in littlevioces first post will work. There is no way, I am aware of, to register for a targeted offer, other than the one you were solicited for, on the website because all accounts are already set up in the mainframe system with your solicited offer. When you register you are just activating that solicited offer already attached to your account. It will not matter if you go through a link explaining a 25 thousand point offer or the 50 point offer when the registration hits your account it will activate your solicited offer.

Ira

In the past when Megabonuses were offered, PLT's and sometimes GLD's could call their elite line after registering to get switched to a different bonus plan; by calling a second time after the bonus period ended, the differential points would be posted manually.

But YYR, never a way to get a different megabonus using the website.

I have a question: will a Visa debit card work? I closed my credit cards long time ago and I am using only debit cards.

Yes, a Visa debit card will work. Also, in response to another poster, as a Platinum I have had no problem getting enrolled in a promotion that I was not targeted for. In fact, I netted the 30K bonus for the Power Promotion this summer by simply calling and having Marriott enroll me.

As waltinsocal already said-yes it will work with a Visa Debit card.

BUT docr775 make sure you have plenty(and I am talking major funds) of float in that account as hotels (as well as gas stations)can realllllly mess with your available balance. If I have to do a debit card(which I do when staying for work-I am then reimbursed)I make sure there is 1k extra in that account just in case.

Or have the front desk swip a normal CC when you check-in and then have them charge the Debit card when you check out rather than the CC.

this is how I did it last time and works like a charm.

I too dislike these, b/c it a) requires that I go to the front desk whne checking out and b) use my Visa, which make expense reports and year end summaries sooo much more difficult - to the point that it makes me consider even doing this.

Same one for me, as a PLAT. Got the max 30k promo that is soon ending (which I will get by the end of the month).

question on the 50K promo

it appears its a no lose situation for me

I was targeted for the 35K 20 night promo

but if I sign up for the 50K I still get the 30K right for hitting 20 (using a visa) right? and the additional five nights/15K are just frosting on the cake.
did I read that right?

Yes, you are correct. The 50K offer is the same as the prior MegaBonus in terms of getting points, 35K for the first 20 nights and 15K for the additional 5 nights.

With the Visa requirements, and the SPG FT500 bonus, I may give up on chasing dual PLT this year.

I just got an email stating that I was pre-registered for the MegaBonus. My offer is the 50,000 point one. Currently, it does not show up in my account under the promotion tab.

The stars are perfectly aligned. Just register for the MegaBonus promotion and earn 2,500 Marriott Rewards points for every stay paid with your Visa card, starting with your second stay. Before you know it, you can earn up to 25,000 bonus points toward the vacation of your dreams.

looks like I need to make a phone call as I was defaulted to the 35/20 promo

the good thing about this is that it rolls into next year where I can put some of the nights. I need less then 25 nights to requalify so this will at least allow me to get some night credit next year too

Well the offer I got is pitiful for me:

5,000 points every 3 stays, up to 25,000 points.

So let's see, with an average stay length of 3 nights, I'm going to need to stay about 45 nights between September 15 and January 15, but I am more likely to get about a 15,000 for my 25 or 30 nights during this period. Not a very impressive incentive for me. In fact, it is so disappointing, that I just can bear to click on the "Register Now" button. Definitely will be looking around for better offers elsewhere at this rate.

This is while others will get a 50,000 bonus for the same number of nights I will get a 15,000 bonus.

I sure hope they are willing to give me a better offer than the one on the table for me.

that would be 15 stays for me or five less than they require from me for my 30K promo
