Concierge Access when Using Points

Does anyone know if a Platinum can get Concierge Lounge access at the Prague and Budapest Marriotts if the rooms are being booked using points?

Concierge lounge access should be provided for Gold and Platinum members regardless of the rate the room is booked at.

Do you have to ask for it sometimes? I was at the Santa Clara Marriott and did not receive it last time I stayed there. I am PLT. Going there next week and will see if I am given the entry without asking.

I was at Santa Clara Marriott a few weeks back. 3 night award stay with CL access for the family, no probs. Your key for the room should have access, ask before you leave check-in.

You shouldn't need to ask. You should always get it:

Concierge Lounge Access, Platinum & Gold members
At participating Marriott hotels, JW Marriott hotels or Renaissance hotels you will always receive access to the Concierge/Executive Club Lounge during normal hours of operation. For Marriott hotels, JW Marriott hotels or Renaissance hotels not operating a Concierge/Executive Club Lounge, we guarantee you will always receive your complimentary Healthy Start breakfast, Monday through Friday or we'll give you $100 USD. (Not available at resort locations).

Usually your key is encoded for access, whether or not you're on the concierge floor. Did the front desk actually tell you that you did not have access to the lounge? Did you try your key to see if it worked?

Like others have mentioned you should not have to ask for this benefit, provided your Marriott Rewards number is on the reservation.

I've never once had to ask and I've never once had a problem.

Did they ask your preference for the PLT arrival gift?

If not, you lost out on $100.
