I've had mixed experiences with the honor bar system. I travel every week for work and often to the same destination for a set contract period. As such, I end up staying at the same hotel every week. If I were to average, I would say that the prices are slightly less than the hotel bar, but not by much. That said, I typically form pretty good relationships with the staff in the lounges, which many times leads to free drinks.

In terms of JW stays, most drinks have been free for me. Most recently, I stayed at the JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square in Seoul. That was probably the best CL experience I've ever had at a Marriott. The spread was completely amazing and the staff treated me likely royalty.

Reminds me, the Marriott Bangalore Whitefield is similar - with better service than the Renaissance too.
