Concierge Service call
I just thought I would post this "prop" to Marriott. I have booked a night using points at the Monterey Marriott this weekend to play Pebble Beach. Tonight, i got a call from the Marriott "welcoming me to the property" and asking if there is "anything that can be done on our behalf to make my stay more enjoyable". "Dinner reservations?" "Ammenities in the room?" I have been a platinum member for over 3 years, with over 100 stays a year, and this was the first time I have received a call from a property inquiring how they can make my stay as enjoyable as possible.
So, kudos to the Monterey Marriott in California for going the extra mile to reinforce why I want to stay at the Marriott, and make me feel like my business is important to them.

Every stay I've ever had at the Marriott Monterey had similar outstanding service. Excellent property.

I have received a few calls/e-mails from various properties as a welcome call. It is hit-or-miss. Some of the e-mails try to upsell amenities that would already be included as a Platinum benefit.

Global, thanks for the heads-up. I'm really looking forward to my stay in Monterey. The call from the concierge has only made me look forward to the service even more.
Thanks again,
Chris

My wife and I stayed here for one night about 2 years ago. This must be standard practice for this property. They called us - and this is the only property that has ever done this.
Also, kudos to them for giving us free breakfast on a Sunday when they technically didn't have to - after upgrading us to a suite. ^

I stayed at the Monterey Marriott about 6 weeks ago and had a similar experience--a call from the concierge a couple days before my arrival. Was upgraded to a very nice room and received free breakfast on the weekend. The front-desk staff and concierge were very accommodating. Excellent personalized service!
