Marriott Concierge - LT Platinum timing question
Hello, and thanks in advance for your assistance on Flyertalk.
I just completed my 999th night at Marriott - next one is 1,000. I have already met all other requirements for lifetime Platinum, so with the next say I'll have all requirements complete.
Can you let me know at what point after that stay posts I'll be bumped up to LT Platinum status? Will I need to contact Guest Services to initiate it?
Thanks again,
Bruce

That's about 10 months from now - any way to kick it in before then?
Thank you,
Bruce

Unfortunately, it is an automatic process which cannot be expedited. My apologies.

After staying 999 nights in hotels, LT PLT would not be used too much as you will be close to death already ;-)
Just kidding, how many nights a year would this be on average?

If BruceWG has been a MR member for 12 years, then that means an average of 84 nights/yr over a 12 year period. (Of course Bruce may have been an MR member for longer than that.

How can you find out how many nights you have stayed in a lifetime? Do you just call Marriott? I haven't seen this number on any of the statements I have received.
I feel like I have spent half my life in a hotel, but really it is more like 2-3 nights a week for the last few years.

You can call or email Marriott Rewards. If you email from Marriott's home page after logging in, they will get back to you in about a day.

Where can the criteria for each level be found?

For Emeritus (Lifetime) status? I don't think that Marriott publishes that on their website anywhere. If you call and ask, they will tell you the requirements and can tell you how close you are. The basics are as follows:
All levels require at least 12 years membership in Marriott Rewards and one has to have attained a given level at least once in the past.
Lifetime Silver:
1.5 million points
600 nights
Lifetime Gold:
2.0 million points
800 nights
Lifetime Platinum:
3.0 million points
1000 nights

Not quite dead yet! I joined the program in the mid-80's. I've been fortunate to have jobs that allowed me to travel on business to most locations in the US, and many international locations.
For many years I averaged between 60 - 80 nights/year; I think my highest number of nights any given year was about 125. The past 3 years my job has not required much, if any, travel and I honestly miss it.
I've made a point of always staying at Marriott properties whenever feasible, and in my case it's been a great experience; I've been able to take my wife along many times so she can enjoy the local attractions while I work. We've taken vacations to London, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Budapest, etc. and stayed at great locations that I would not have been able afford otherwise. I gave my daughter and son-in-law a week in New York for their honeymoon and as devoted theater-goers they had the time of their life. All this, and I still have over 3.5 million points in my bank for future trips

Marriott has been very good to me over the years - it's been a win-win proposition!

As always, you are correct. I sent an email this AM, and here is what I got back.
The Silver Elite lifetime requirements are:
Twelve membership years, 600 Elite nights stayed, 1,500,000 Rewards
points earned, and at least 1 year at the Silver level.
Currently, your account has 20 membership years, 615 Elite nights, and have earned 1,188,034 lifetime points.
And all of you thought I was making that 20 year anniversary stuff up!

But you know - 615 nights ago, I was younger, thinner, and blonder. I was. I think. No, really - I was.
