Just kidding, how many nights a year would this be on average?

Not quite dead yet!
I joined the program in the mid-80's. I've been fortunate to have jobs that allowed me to travel on business to most locations in the US, and many international locations.
For many years I averaged between 60 - 80 nights/year; I think my highest number of nights any given year was about 125. The past 3 years my job has not required much, if any, travel and I honestly miss it.
I've made a point of always staying at Marriott properties whenever feasible, and in my case it's been a great experience; I've been able to take my wife along many times so she can enjoy the local attractions while I work. We've taken vacations to London, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Budapest, etc. and stayed at great locations that I would not have been able afford otherwise. I gave my daughter and son-in-law a week in New York for their honeymoon and as devoted theater-goers they had the time of their life. All this, and I still have over 3.5 million points in my bank for future trips
Marriott has been very good to me over the years - it's been a win-win proposition!
