My thoughts exactly. If it wasn't so close to March 1st I probably would say a web site glitch. OTOH, Marriott IT is definitely known for adding bugs to their web site on a regular basis.

My biggest hope is in the fact that in the past Marriott has been fairly good at communicating "major" program changes with a decent lead time (i.e. change to Stay Anytime award costs.) They may move hotels up (and less often) down without prior notification, but I don't remember any real big "award" changes that they didn't first give members prior notice.

Hello,

On Friday we changed the reward codes that correspond with the travel packages (instead of 080 it is now 0800). The Travel Package will include the same reward benefits and the point cost has not changed.

All Travel packages issued prior to the code change can be redeemed as usual.

The new reward codes can be seen online under the Travel Package information. If you are tracking this reward on Dream Tracker, just add the new reward code.

Hi Chris. Welcome back.

Another bug to report, but fortunately it is superficial. I did my award reservation this morning as previously reported and got an email confirmation which I didn't look at until just a couple minutes ago. After I did so I called Plat Guest Services very concerned and found the problem was only bad information on the email confirmation.

Now I cashed in a 0870 award for 250,000 points (Cat 6 Hotel + Air Travel Package). My confirmation listed two 0870 awards for 250,000 each. Each one had its own confirmation number, and then the total points for the stay was listed as... 500,000 points. Oops, that's one way to get us to use our points. I was assured by Guest Relations that only 250,000 points were deducted. This has something to do with the way awards are categorized under the new system where they are attached to a reservation. There is an award confirmation number and an award reservation confirmation number. The problem is that the IT folks probably didn't update the confirmation program, or updated it wrong; so both confirmation numbers along with points for each (double reporting), and then the erroneous total, are all printed on the reservation confirmation that is emailed to guests.

Looks like the website is good now

I just logged back in and am able to see the details for the different travel packages and add them into the DreamRewards tracker again. No more Elite Status Mismatch messages.

Whatever they did looks like it fixed things.
