LNF rejection advise

I booked a hotel and then LNFed it. Booked a room with bf for 2 nights. My claim was rejected as they stated that room with bf and dinner was available cheaper (which is true). They changed my rate to this cheaper rate of room + bf + dinner.

This cheaper rate of room + bf + dinner is only available if I book 2 nights continuous. So I made 2 new separate bookings of 1 night each and sent 2 separate LNFs. They rejected the 2 claims and combined the 2 bookings and changed the rate to the room + bf + dinner rate.

What I was doing.....is it right. Or is the LNF department trying to pull a fast one.

Please advise and suggest accordingly.

Package rates are not eligible for LNF consideration, only base rates. They should not have rejected your claim.

What should be my response?

Also what do you advise regarding their combining 2 separate bookings?

For each LNF submission, put a note in the comments section asking them not to combine the reservations.

Just what I said - tell them that the price of the package with breakfast/dinner included is irrelevant as the LNF program doesn't apply to those rates. You can even quote their T&C. If they are still resistant, I would try and get customer service involved.

Twickenham has given you some good advice............

I previously overcame this linking problem earlier in the year by simply making the 2 resees but doing them at least a day apart ......filing a claim immediately after the first resee and let it pass thru the system WITHOUT being able to be linked to any other resee.........then once the first resee is LNF approved, make a second ressee and file LNF again.........
(but I did this for 7-individual nights in which I only wanted to keep 5 based upon flight arrangements which I couldn't yet book.........by linking the resees I was being denied the ability to simply CXL the 2 nights I wasn't eventually going to use.......took a while for this logic to sink in so I just opted for the alternative and had no problem later CXLing the 2 resees I wasn't going to use once I had confirmed train resees into/out of St Petersburg, RU).........now-a-days I only make multiple single night resees in order to CXL unusable nights w/o any problems whether they be LNFs, points or std rates..........

Welll then have you factored in the parking costs at each of those hotels in the city? There could be giant differences between the daily parking costs at different hotels in different locations.

And there's a Fairfield at the Queensboro bridge that's a lot less (normal price), and yet still in the city. In case you're not familiar with it, Queensboro bridge is Queens just across the river from upper Manhattan east side.

airsupply Nov 3, 2013 2:08 pm

Thank you, I will look into that as well. As for the parking cost it seems Fairfield Inn is the cheapest (from $ 25 in Chelsea and Queensboro bridge location) and Marriott Marquis the most expensive (I think )at $ 85 . Currently I have reservation at Renaissance 57 which charges $ 55 for parking, so I am also looking for non hotel parking garages in the area.
