Mega Points Promotion question

Hi, forgive me for what may be an ignorant question...

If I have qualified for the double points/stay credits for the current megapoints promo ending May 31st and I paid for two additional rooms (for colleagues) on my Mar Visa card, should I recieve 10 points per dollar spent for all three rooms and then enjoy the doubling of points and nights for the cost of their stay as well?

Thanks very much,
LAR

Yes, you will get double points for all 3 rooms.

Myself and my family stayed in a Courtyard here in the UK over Easter and I got double points for the whole lot (3 rooms).

Glenn is only a MR Silver member and got the double point Megabonus option. Lucky dude!

I may be wrong, but based on those who have posted on this forum, it seems that Marriott tended to target non-Gold/Plats with the double point/nights versions. I just assumed it was to try and get them to stay more nights and move up to the higher elite levels.

That is probably true, but I think euromannn wonders why he did not get that offer as a silver member.

VA1379 is correct. I am a non- MR gold or platinum member and was not targeted for any special offer. I have stayed 23 days since March 1, 2007, and will get the basic Megabonus award.

I called Marriott Rewards 3 times asking to have a note added to my account for possible adjustment later but all 3 representatives refused.

Best of luck to all those that win the bigger Megabonus fish!

You know, I thought that when the promo began! Before MegaBonus began, I already had booked a low-cost 1 night stay (which kick-started the promo nicely), plus the 3 rooms for myself and family at the CY and I also have 12 (!) rooms booked for next week at the Ren Prague, although I'm obviously aware that I will get points for just 3 of them.

i must say...

that I had expected the response to be 'no, you only get point credits for your own personal stay not the other two rooms that you paid for'.

Is this actually MAR policy - that you can get points (as well as the double Megapoints) for up to three rooms maximum?

Thanks for clarifying - I have an issue to take up with a London, England Marriot and want to be clear on my rights per their policy.

It is actual Marriott Rewards policy:-

Under the Marriott Rewards Terms & Conditions, a member is eligible to receive points for staying at participating Marriott Rewards hotels for his/her guestroom and up to two additional rooms. All rooms must be reserved and registered in the member's name and the member must make arrangements for payment of all rooms on a consolidated bill, which should be requested at time of hotel check-in. To ensure points are automatically posted to member's account, the member should present his/her Marriott Rewards membership card at check-in. For more information, please see terms and conditions under "Point Earning" #1.
The above is taken from HERE
