How long does it take to credit points?
I was just wondering how long it takes until Reward Points are credited to my account?
I have been there last week and still no points posted - maybe I am just too impatient.
I am also asking because I will pass the 50th night in summer one week before going on holiday and would like to benefit from the gold perks during my holdiays...

It depends on when you checked out. Usually, it takes me about 5 days to get my points for stays in the United States. I have not yet gone abroad so I cannot tell how long it will take for stays outside the United States.
If your holiday (or vacation as used in American English) is less than a week from your previous business trip, you could call up Marriott Rewards and ask them to note for your vacation stay that you will be a gold member. Sadly, if your vacation takes you to a "resort" property, you are not guaranteed a free continental breakfast, due to the resort exclusion of that benefit. However, you will have a better chance of a room upgrade if you check in with a gold status, and some resorts will give you a free continental breakfast (with an opportunity to pay extra for a full breakfast). It never hurts to ask about breakfast at a resort.

Marriott asks you to allow ten days for points to post. After that, you should feel free to contact them if your points don't post. Mine usually take about 3-5 days...sometimes a little longer, (sometimes even sooner), but waiting longer than a week is fairly rare.
This has been my experience in both North America and in Europe.

For me, it usually take 3 business days after the checkout date for the points to post.
However, it took 2 weeks from a recent checkout date (April 7th) for the hotel stay to post physically on my MR account. I don't know if others have experienced this problem. I contact MR earlier this week and they indicated that they have been having problems with stays being shown on the MR accounts. The points, however, were reflective within 3 days because the points total changed, but the hotel stay did not show up on the MR account screen.

Normally I check out on a Friday and points post Sunday or Monday...I have never had to wait a week anywhere in the US or Europe.

Posting time
Checked out on 4/14 - still waiting for points to post.
Actually have points from the Visa card already posted, but not from the Marriott stay itself. Will probably submit a missing stay form tomorrow if nothing shows up.

On a recent trip all of my points posted about 3-5 days after check-out.
One of my recent stays was in Canada. How do they figure out how many points I get?? I've tried to figure it different ways and can't figure out how they came up with the number that they did.

Mine usually post in 3-4 days, but lately I have been getting the points added to my balance in a few days, but the matching night count and specific listing do not show up for about 3 more days.

But I am not expecting too much as there is a higher rate of golds and plats in the U.S. than in Europe or Asia (I felt that upg as aHilton Gold even to suites happened more often outside the U.S.).

Mine usually show up ~3 days after the stay, but I still have a stay from 4/15-4/17 that hasn't shown up yet. However, my 4/17-4/20 stay at another hotel is already on my account. So, I'm thinking that it depends upon the hotel, and perhaps the number of guests they're processing (the one that hasn't shown up for me yet was the Detroit Ren Cen, while the CYs I stay at always post quickly).
To the OP... do you get your bill receipt emailed to you after your stay? I've found that the points usually show up when that comes in to my email account. Looks like that's true in the recent stays as well - the email receipt for my 4/15-4/17 stay hasn't shown up yet, but I got the one for the more recent visit.
If it's been >10 business days, I'd go ahead and email or call MR.
