Only on stays after you become a silver.

But technically I became a silver on my 7th night of the 10 night stay. Does that count for anything? In other words, would I get 20% bonus for the last 3 nights?

Since Marriott will process all of your nights together, you won't get Silver status until after that stay (and all the nights) post. So no Silver bonus for the last 3 nights within your stay.

With that in mind, there is one thing that you could try. It may (or may not) work. Go to the front desk and ask if they can "bill" you after your 7th night. (I'd even tell them why you are wanting them to do that. Who knows, maybe they will offer you an upgrade or something.) This means they would charge your credit card for the 1st seven nights at that point, and then charge your CC for the last 3 nights when you check-out. This may allow Marriott's system to process your Silver status before the last 3 nights post. It may work (or it may not)

Alternately, you can try calling Marriott Rewards and explain the situation. I doubt they will do anything about it, but I understand your point of view.

Let us not forget that the Ultimate Reservation Guarantee also applies to Silvers. That makes a Silver less likely to be walked.

Recently an FT member who is Silver collected the $100 cash bounty when a walk actually happened.

@hamajacky: I have found the Marriott Rewards reps to be fairly nice to deal with. If you explain your situation, they might well throw some good will rewards points your way.

10% discount for weekend rate for SILVER

Does 10% OFF for weekend rate apply to advanced purchased rate(prepaid in full)? Or does it apply only to regular(best avaliable)rate?

Thanks.

I was upgraded at a Marriott a couple times when I was Silver. Never got Lounge access, but one week I did get a fridge/microwave/wet bar, and another week I got a balcony. I'm sure they were just slow weeks for the hotel.
