Why doesn't Marriott think I'm special?
I wish Marriott would do something to recognize travelers who lead small groups. I stay in hotels for work around 45 nights every year, but I always book at least three rooms. Over the past year I have stayed 47 nights, but paid for 222, because of multiple rooms. I don't always stay at Marriott, because w/out gold, they really don't do a thing to attract my business. Despite this, I've got 17 nights stayed and over 100 paid at Marriotts in the past year. Each night I choose to stay elsewhere, Marriott loses revenue from at least three rooms.
It would be very different if someone else were taking the nights/points from my additional rooms, but they're not. Everything is paid on my credit card and booked under my name. So...
Does anyone know of a way to help someone in my position qualify for gold? Given how much I spend w/ Marriott, it seems lame that I can't even score a free CL breakfast.
Failing that, does anyone know of a decent chain that would be more interested in my business (interested enough to do something to earn my business)?

If you would sign up for the CC then you get 15 nights towards gold.35 nights in Marriotts=not hard to do.
Then put all the room expenses on that card.
And while gold is better than silver it still is not all that wonderful.
Breakfast pretty much only on weekdays(few full service prop's maintain open lounges on weekends)and you still will recieve the same cr**py service that you enjoy as a silver. It is"The Marriott Way"after all

I believe you can get credit for nights for all three rooms. Just make sure they put your rewards number on all three rooms, or book online where you can make sure it is there. Are you getting points for the base rate for all three rooms? I think the maximum rooms you can get credit for at a single hotel is three. You might be able to request missing nights to get some back credits.

Exactly!
So frustrating. You'd think that some frequent stay program would get smart and try to attract folks like me. When all other things are pretty much equal (convenient location, price), I'll stay with the company that will make MY stay a bit more pleasant. While convenience and price will sometimes stand in the way of loyalty, I could easily buy over 150 room nights each year from the chain that would go just a little bit out of its way to woo me. Heck, if they made it really nice, I might break 200 nights with them.
Do you think they simply haven't considered that there are folks like me out there, or are our numbers too small to warrant making an effort to gain our loyalty?

You might want to check out Hilton
For your scenario you may want to check out Hilton properties. They have quite a few ways to qualify for status including stays, nights, money spent, and even reward stays count toward status.
There is a Hilton forum on this board that you could browse to see if it may be something worth your time.
