We are currently at a Courtyard property. When we returned to our room, we noticed that the cleaning crew cleaned up our room even though we had specifically requested "Do not disturb". No big deal, right? I'm sure it happens from time to time for all the FTers.
The cleaning crew made our bed. We noticed that our sleeping bag liner (aka cocoon mummy sack) is missing. We spoke with the front desk, and the lady said that she'll check with the cleaning crew. I don't think the odds of us getting the sleeping bag liner bag are high. It's probably washed in some washing machine and ruined.
Does anyone have similar experience? What are the courses of action we can take to get compensated? We are MR platinum, if that matters.
Thanks,

I had this happen twice - Check into a Marriott - went out in the morning - came back - all my clothes were gone - had to chase a maid down - they cleaned my room for someone to check in that day but I was staying (2) days - too crazy for me - front desk had no explanation ????????

But if it doesn't show then raise the issue with the hotel management. I'd simply state that a new one is $49.95 or whatever the amount is, perhaps provide a printout from a web site or somesuch to back up the claim and you'd like to be compensated please.

I've had two items "disappear" from my Marriott rooms. Both times in the 1990s. In each case I spoke with the General Manager.
At the St. Louis Airport Marriott, I was basically told "Too bad for you, fella". They couldn't have cared less and did absolutely nothing. Not even apologize.
A year or two later at the Louisville Marriott, I was told to buy a replacement item (a walkman) and send the Manager the bill. I did...$54...and had a check a couple of days later.
