Palm Desert Construction
Was adv the Palm Desert Marriott would be undergoing construction; the Spa in temp location and pool not available. Anybody have any more definite information on this situation? Part of the fun of the Palm Desert Area isusing the spa and having the secluded pool area.

Hi suzyq-which Marriott in PD are you talking about?
Stayed ay the Shadow Ridge and yes there is construction going on.
Stayed at the esmarelda-there is construction going on.
I pity those poor workers in that horrid heat.

Yes, the Marriott Desert Springs Resort closed their spa on July 9th or there abouts for major overhaul. I was at the villas the first week in July. There have been a lot of complaints about the dilapidated condition.
Mrs. JTG heard it was to be closed for up to 9 months. So it sounds like they're pretty much tearing the place apart.
I didn't ask, but I have to believe that they'll offer some access to spas at their other properties in Palm Desert.

"The Resort will be undergoing a "beautification project" beginning July 5, 2006-March, 31st 2007. Our lobby will be under extensive renovation from July 5-Oct 31, 2006. During this time we will have a temporary Front Desk and Lobby Bar available. All restaurants, bars, pools, retail outlets, golf & tennis will be accessible and unaffected during this renovation. The Spa is scheduled to undergo a complete renovation starting August 19th 2006 through March 31, 2007. A complete Day Spa with discounted rates will be available over this timeframe, inclusive of 36 private treatment rooms, in addition to a 4,500 square-foot exercise facility."
