also available for 120,000 for the 4-nights

Hotel Reward: 4 Nights, Category 6 Hotel 1 120,000
Total points for stay: 120,000

Summary of Room Charges Cost per night per room (HKD)
Tuesday, November 29, 2011 - Saturday, December 3, 2011
(4 nights)

BTW, since this is a Cat 6, it will be ONLY 30k night, so where you are seeing 50k is beyond me. Further, if you add a night (before/after your dates) you won't pay an extra point.............

Sorry again (Im up way too late) 50k was for the Conrad that friday night.

But, I dont understand this reward stay booking...

I was looking 1 day at a time, using the "my dates are flexible" option (I want to hop around to experience different hotels)

It shows the only available date as Friday the 2nd. (for points only. I can do points and cash on 11/30 and 12/1 but I rather use points only)

So for points only, it shows only Friday the 2nd.

But if I put in the date range of 11/29-12/3 (like you did) it does give me the option of staying the whole time using just points.

Very strange that I can use points for the whole stay (4 days) even though its not offered for 11/29, 11/30, 12/1 (there must be nothing available those days)

when a std room is available for payment it is also available for points so now you know that your 4-nighter at the JW is available for points (unless you really want your stay at the Conrad (which has rooms available using points all 43-nights as vwell, albeit outrageous #s, although some nights have C&Ps available) --- same buiilding, then you're in the wrong blog)

For JW Marriott HK they rarely have the standard rate available so as award room. They seems always providing points + cash upgrade inventory but much lesser chance for point only standard room.

No idea where it will be located but it's gonna be good business for them! During exhibition season HK hotel occupancy rate easily hits 100%

Most likely will be on Kowloon side. I hope it's as modern & cool as the HK Island CY - but with better access to the MTR.

CY in Kowloon would be a nice since Marriott doesn't have a property in Kowloon since they closed the Renaissance there. We will see where it opens up though.

I've asked Simon Cooper that very question (as it would definitely affect the time of availability) just the other day and am awaiting his response.
Will post his response when, and if, received..........

Agree as I very much liked the CY on Island side on a visit Oct. '10, though that location IIRC is getting closer to the MTR with it's expansion westward. At any rate more Marriott family choices in HKG would get a ^ from me.

This is a brief review of the JW Hong Kong our first stay at this property. We just finished a two night stay on points standard rate. Arriving late, around 10pm, and tired from a 16 hour flight, our only expectation was a standard room to clean up and get some rest. We were treated to an exceptional checkin and escorted to our upgraded room. The room was stellar and had a large spa tub. The room also had a pair of live goldfish on our table for company. About 10 minutes after arrival a pot of tea was delivered. Im sure part of this great service is being in asia but the JW seems to raise the bar

The executive lounge had a great variety and was open from 6:00am until midnight

We would recommend the JW without hisitation and for 30k points a night a great use of points

I was lucky to be able to book the New Year Eve and Day and a few days after that with standard award rate. They now require point and cash for the New Year Eve and Day now!

Any thing interested happening around JW MR on New Year Eve? E.g, firework, etc. How about around Christmas also?

The area is more of a business area so beside the Xmas decoration in Pacific Place I won't expect much.

The happenings are at Central and TST, where both are 1 stop away on MTR (and Causeway Bay, 2 Stop away)
