My first upgrade to concierge floor.
I was just upgraded to the concierge floor for the first time, yay! am just a lowly silver but I have the most nights I have ever had. I am not sure if that matters of if they had to do it bc they were near capacity, but they were nice about it and made me feel like I wasn't just a poser. So hopefully if I make gold this year it will happen more often. It was in the Provo Marriott in Downtown provo. Not too extraordinary a property but not bad and the service was great, I have been pretty sick of rude people in Marriotts lately, and everyone here was super friendly. And it is probably one of the cheapest full service properties you'll find, a category 3. Does anyone gain weight from being put on the concierge floor often? I could see it happening to me, not a plus...

I can assure you that lounge access can put the pounds on! Congrats but be careful of the evening goodies!

On the positive side, with wine generally $7.00-$9.00 a glass, you won't become an alcoholic.

I'm not aware of any free booze in the C-Lounges either.
But in the self-service ones, you can pour a fairly hefty drink that takes some of the sting out of the price.

To the topic, I have personally never seen any free booze in a full service marriott C-lounge in the US. Believe me, I would have zeroed in on it!!!!!
On the other hand, I have had plenty of free wine and beer at Residence Inns, Fairfields, and Courtyards across the country during their happy hours in the evening. (As one geographically relevant example tonight, the San Antonio Res Inn downtown has free beer and wine in the evening along with the so-called food.)
