100 nights

It may be insane but I just hit 100 nights for the year on 04/21. Has anyone else hit this mark yet?

I have several co-workers that have have been racking up 300+ nights per year at Residence Inns, they've been doing this since shortly after 9/11/2001. At government expense too...

If the Search function EVER becomes usable again I could direct you to a quite lengthy thread I started some time ago addressing these co-workers' circumstances. Simple math says that people staying that long earn serious MR points - among other things enough for multiple cruises.

I stand corrected - thank you very much for pointing this out to me!

If I got it right this should show the thread that I was referring to: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5834

If Marriott had a hotel within dirivng distance of where I have been working here in MO, I would have 100 nights thus far. Unfortunately, the No Tell Motel with its awesome frequent stay program has been getting my business. I do believe if I sign up for their frequent use program I might now have > 100 certificates good for 30 minutes each.

Not that I'll admit....

Seriously, though, only 5 more days to make that number.

I also agree with the other reply.... Please let me "Get a life...." 175 nights last year in MR, 85 at Staybridge, and a few scattered in other hotels...

Gotta find a new job.....

Not this year.

But I had 440 nights in 2002.

That's kinda scary. How long has you been "homeless"? I've been thinking along those lines myself. When you add up all the mortgage, bills, maintenance, etc, it's not much more expensive to move into a hotel.

In fact, if I wouldn't get crucified by Uncle Sam in annual taxes, this would definitely be a good way to go....

That was the year of the double-double promo, in which each stay after your first (in the promo period) counted double for points credit and double for nights credit.

I checked into a Marriott property for a long-term stay in January, and didn't check out for over a year. Every night from my check-in until the end of March counted double.

Ms. JPT put me on notice after that assignment, and my travel is now way, way down. She put up with it for 6 1/2 years; now she wants me home more often. I don't do that homeless thing any more.

You will find, though, that if you're willing to commit to a long-term stay, many hotels will wiggle quite a bit on rates. In fact Marriott's extended-stay brands usually already have decreased rates for longer stays. I've found that the price breaks usually come at 7 and 14 nights, and sometimes there's another one around 21 or 30 days. You might find it worth looking into.

Forget the Megabonus...this is the kind of promo that I need!!! I too am about to surpass the 100 night mark (92 currently) and would love to be sitting at 184

Don't forget the story of the guy who moved into a Hilton or Hyatt (don't remember which) in Reno full-time, while he traveled for a living. He got 365 days + whatever days he stayed in hotels while travelling. Something like 450 or 500 nights (real nights, not double-nights) per year. Although some would "argue" that is cheating, he still paid for every night....

If I remember right, he made the news as the Hilton/Hyatt's first 10 Million Point member from doing this for a couple years.
