Marriott Manhattan Beach - Question
After searhing this forum I have booked 5 nights at the Marriott Manhattan Beach (client in El Segundo). I hope to do some open water swimming at the beach, but does anyone know how large the pool is? Does it have lap lanes?

It's been a while since I've looked at the pool. Think it's straight - don't know if it's set up for lap lanes per se. You could call & ask the hotel staff.
August is a good time for ocean swimming because it's finally at a decent temp. Cheers. Sharon

The Manhattan Beach staff said it was long and people do swim laps in it but they did not know how long.

When I walked to the pier yesterday there was a school of dolphin jumping through the water following the lifeguard boat. If you're w/ the dolphins, don't think you need to worry about the sharks

I have stayed in this Marriott before but it had been a few years so I had forgotten. The pool is usable for laps. Its outdoors, heated and 20 yds long. It does not have lanes but it was never crowded -- it's also open until 11pm.
I had a great experience at this hotel. The staff made it a point to learn my name and someone from the front desk even walked me to my room. (The first time this has ever happened.)
The concierge lounge was nice with a good selection of hors d'ourvres each night. The Valet staff washed my car windows and offered a bottled water each time I left the facility.
My room was an "executive suite" with a good sized balcony overlooking the golf course.
Overall an A+ stay.
