what we want on this trip
I wish I could give more info. Here is my list:
1. Never been to Hawaii.
2. two couples - middle aged!
3. spending 5 days at Princeville. Told it's pretty laid back.
4. want one more hotel/island. My wife suggested that we pick an island with some sightseeing opportunities after lounging at Princeville.
5. As I'm using Starwood points at Princeville, want to use some of my Marriott points for hotel/island #2.
6. I have no "list" of must-dos." Then again, hopefully this won't be our last time to Hawaii - tho we have lots of other places to see before we come back!
7. The two men will DEFINITELY want to play golf!
8. We want fine dining opportunities whereever we go. Would love to take in beautiful sights. Minimal hiking. Museums would be fine if they're good.
9. with hotel stays on points (and hopefully first class upgrades on points), we're both willing to spend $$$ for a classy trip.
Many thanks.
Steve

Aloha Steve:
If this is your very first trip to the Islands, I'd suggest giving the Ritz on Maui a try. There are some great courses right alona Lahaina.
Thinking about it some more, I'd say it's about a draw, since both Maui and O`ahu would do well for the criteria listed. You'd get the good golf, fine dining and beautiful sights on both islands... and since both hotels suggested are pretty far from the major hussle and bussle of city life, you have a draw there too. The only thing that would tip the scale one way is the museums. O`ahu has far more of those as well as historical sights...
Please post a thread regarding this question over on the Hawai`i board following the link that FlyinHawaiian has suggested earlier in the thread. Since this thread seems to be no longer a discussion about Marriott, it has no belonging here and it will receive a better response over there.
aloha
