What do I get?
Stayed at a Courtyard in Boston on March 25th. I didn't get my Platinum gift so in the morning when I was checking out I let them know that I did'nt get it. Their first repsonse was "would you like it now" I told them that it didn't work that way. The manger on duty said she did not know what I was supposed to get and would have to call marriott and then let me know. A week later I had not heard anything. I called and was told they were still trying to figure it out.
Anyone know how many Marriott bucks I should get?

Actually the Platinum guar states that you are to get $100 US - not Marriott bucks - but hard US cash. They should have given it to you when you told them on check out that you did not get it.
Sometimes, I have not gotten it when I have changed rooms at check in (the gift was wtg in my preassigned room) - and in that case I tell them right then (and they give me the water/cookies in a bag). That really isn't in the spirit in my mind - I changed rooms - not their fault.
But in your case - they should have said - "I am sorry we didn't fill our promise of service" and given you $100. The Mgr might need to be called - but you a) shouldn't have to tell them what their policy is and b) should have had an immediate call from the GM/Mgr on duty - not have to wait.
As it stands - you prob won't get anything now.
(I am not saying you aren't entitled or shouldn't) just that with the days that have passed, there is doubtfully any record of whether you did or didn't and the memories have faded.
You should have contacted the GM that day if there was no mgr on duty to talk to at check out. Next time, get the name of the front desk staff, ask to speak to the mgr, or leave your business card and haev that person contact you. Or ask for the $100 us cash - that is the Plat guar and Marriotts policy. Have them pull it up on the web OR call Plat MR cust service right then, while you are at the desk.

Two weeks ago, I checked in and came to the room and there was no platinum gift. Since it was about 10pm or so, I just said the hell with it and would talk to the front desk in the morning. Next morning came about and I was running late, so forgot about it. I guess the gift is really not that important because I did not think about it until ten days later when I checked out. I mentioned it to the employee working at the desk and her response was, "I am sorry". I told her that I believe that was I entitled to $100 or some other monetary amount. She had the deer in the headlight look, so I said that I would speak to the manager when I returned in 3 days. I spoke to the manager who said that I should have resolved it when I noticed no platinum award gift when I checked in on the previous stay. No big deal, I mean, what the hell, only been staying here 22 nights a month since December and the platinum gift is not even as important or expensive as the shirt I lost using the hotel's dry cleaning service...laughing. Sometimes it is tough being loyal.

edit to post
ok, after trying to edit the above post for 20 minutes, I gave up. It should read..... I'm pretty sure that it is $100 for Marriotts, $50 for Courtyards, and $25 for Fairfield Inn's. Cold Cash, not Marriott Bucks

I did not receive any platinum gift at a Residence Inn recently. Does the cash "apology" apply to Residence Inns as well? If so, how much?
