Reducing points without notifying
As the title say wake up with missing points any body here have the same situation before, never happened to me, is it legal to take my points without telling me ?
I have screenshot wich i sent them the missing points.
Any advice ?
Sent this email to [email protected]
Good day ..
My account points balance was 1,157,428 without touching my account today its 1,155,329 So there is 2,099 points taken from my account without notifying me !
Its not acceptable to take points from my account without telling me, this is very annoying from a company like marriott, specially with an old loyalty member like me (more than 10 years), even if there is a wrong calculation in previous stay at least send me an email telling me whats going on with my account.
Please check attachments for more details ..

Unfortunately, if Marriott thinks a "correction" is needed, they will do so. And yes, they will do it without notifying you. In fact, their "corrections" usually won't even show up as a transaction to your account. So if you don't keep track of your point balances and transactions, you may very well never realize they made that correction.
So can they do it? I guess the answer is yes as they do it and have been doing it for a long time.

It seems ALL hotel loyalty programs have done this kind of "adjustment" without notifying the member.
I now make periodic screen shots of all programs just so I have a Static record.
On a somewhat related matter - HHonor is the worst program in the way how it shows the balance. While you can have monthly email sent to you to show the balance at the time, the number is NOT "frozen" in time - i.e. the number will change as your activities in subsequent months cause the balance changes, and the number in previous emails ALSO change to the latest. How stupid this is!
The HH's subtraction of award redemption and the actual posting also is a duplicate entry, often cause huge confusion esp when the award stay is months away, thus not showing on the same page of the initial deduction at booking. It is so bad, HH is the only program I create a spreadsheet to keep track of the movement.
