Here we go again, no points credited
Why is Marriott so crap at posting points and crediting nights? I have lost count the number of times I've had to contact MR and/or the hotels concerned just to get them credited - it's like a full time job keeping track of it.
I stayed one night at the Renaissance Heathrow on a Friday, which was prepaid, it was booked on the Marriott website and as always my membership details are there and yet once again no points or nights credits. To add insult this night at Heathrow would trigger the current megabonus offer where I get a free night so until Marriott get their act together and post my points no free night for me. I'm a Platinum member and Marriott don't seem to give a damm.
However, the following night I stayed at the Reicshof hotel in Hamburg - a Curio by Hilton which was fabulous and yet they posted my points the very day after I checked out.
Come on Marriott, Hilton can do it, and for years BA have been doing it successfully. Marriott clearly has no consistency with the posting of points, its hit and miss depending on where you stay - it should be an automatic system.
I've contacted the Renaissance Heathrow and they cant see if the points are posted or not (they're not thats why I'm contacting them) and have forwarded my request to Marriott Rewards Customer Care help desk and still 2 days after, nothing.
If anyone from Marriott is reading this I'd love an explanation why you can't get your act together like other companies. Perhaps I'd be better off giving Hilton all of my business?

If it's a dealbreaker, then give Hilton your bizness. Walk the talk.
There have been reports @ some int'l properties that have been prepaid w/o no addt'l charges don't post. So it's good to do some charge even if only a buck.
If you had a folio under your door or got one @ checkout, then just send the folio for them to adjust manually.
Fwiw - there have been a few occasions over many years something didn't post, but sending in the folio took care of it and it certainly wasn't a full time job doing it.
Having said that it is annoying to have to do so.
Cheers

True
This is truly annoying, but as you said it does work, just takes about 2 weeks & sometimes a reminder email on the folio sent . It seems to happen about 3 or 4 times a year for me & mostly with international hotels in Canada & China, with multiple brands, from RI to JW's.

It happens during my Megabonus in Malaysia as well. Nowadays, they are currently not very efficient. Their LNF is getting from 1 day to 2 days ore more. Escalation says 2 days become 3 days.

It varies with me. when i stay during the weekend at full service hotels, i usually have the points post monday or tuesday. I think it has something to do with accounting being off weekends. As of now, ive only had to submit one missing points form but i can expect the points to take a couple of days.

I have had problems with points posting when I book the MR rate. For example, I booked a night with a 1000 point bonus at the Courtyard in Fishkill, NY. The night posted. But I contacted the hotel, and they never responded. Then I sent an e-mail to MR about 10 days ago. I haven't heard from MR either.
It's frustrating! At least it was the 1000 point bonus and not the stay...

I marvel at people who prefer to complain rather than use the phone.
If immediacy is important to you, call MR customer service (after the specified waiting period). For US properties, the rep will probably be able to access your folio and directly add the points due. For international properties, you will be given a name and email address where you can send a pdf of your folio. Points are usually added in within three business days.
Sometimes it's not the game, it's the player.

Recently I had to claim points as only the points for a consumption at the lobby bar did post.
MR did answer and correct the points "only" after 10 days.

For me sometimes it takes longer time but they post it ..
I never call them to post a missing stay except for onece long time ago when i booked three rooms and they post one room only , send them an email and every thing was fine ..
Also other one it was a bounce 5k point if i pay more for bigger room also send them an email and every thing goes smooth ..
But usually they post it without problems .. Relax ignore your account you well find them later .. Good luck

Marriott is not doing its job right.
It is annoying. I have to chase after 2 missing stays, both are in China.

I alternate between Hilton and Marriott properties every other week and I've never had issues with points being posted. Always show up 3 business days after I checked out. All my stays are booked on their website.
