Proper compensation for being walked?
I was walked last May from a RI, and just now stumbled across two different T&C's on the web when I google them. One says
AC Hotels, Courtyard, Fairfield Inn & Suites, SpringHill Suites, Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites, Moxy Hotels, Protea Hotels® $100 USD 90,000 points
(Platinum Elite Members only)
the other says...
Courtyard, SpingHill Suites, Residence Inn, Fairfield Inn & Suites, TownePlace Suites
- $100 USD
- 2 free room certificates
(Platinum Elite Members Only)
What actually happened is, I am they sent me to a Hampton that the hotel group owned and was told I would get points.
They posted 5000 pt a week or so later. (I am a platinum)
Did I miss out or am I reading something wrong?
Thanks!

It definitely looks like you missed out. I would suggest calling MR Customer server and get their help with getting it cleared up. They should have also paid for your first night at the other hotel as well. So if they didn't do that, you should get even more.
If you a Plat, then you should have either received more points or the certs plus the $100. Someone, in another thread, recently noticed the same discrepancy you have found. And right at the moment, I'm not sure there is a definitive answer. The T&Cs did state you should have received the points, but at least one webpage was recently updated with the certs information.
Note that Marriott used to offer Plats certs and those certs were very nice in that they were usable at virtually any Marriott hotel worldwide and were NOT dependent on award availability. So they were much more usable than an award cert would be. But of course some might prefer the 90K points instead as those would add to your existing account balance.

hhoope01 pretty much covered it. However, I think the time to have tried to get it sorted was shortly after it happened, not 7 months later.
Cheers.

Well then I am glad I called the elite line. They took all my info and said even if it was 7 months that doesn't mean I lost my rights.
Thanks for the assistance Hhoope01!!
