Actually I get better upgrades in Europe than I do in the US. As with all things it probably depends on property, how many better rooms or suites they have, and how many elites are checking in.

That's what we experience as well. I think the main reason is the overwhelming numbers of elites in the US due to CCs.

I think places like Thailand and Malaysia there are better chances of getting upgrades as elites, as status is well appreciated there. In Hong Kong I need to get a hold of the Room Manager in a CY in order to get a better upgrade when I need a room with the kids.
